An American singer peformed on stage at the Pavilion - early to mid 1970's. Possibly Maria Muldaur 'Midnight at the Oasis'? A fight broke out in the bar upstairs and I think the gig was abandoned. Famously, she annnounced that she would never return to Hemel Hempstead. Clearly not that famously as I can't recall that much about it despite being involved. Can anyone shed light on this?

I work in the Hemel / London area quite often and used to use my caravan as a base. The site was located near the M1 but closed. I am looking to site a caravan in the Hemel area (CAN YOU HELP). If you have a plot of land and a caravan could be housed on it please contact me. I am willing to pay rent for the land and pay for the time i stay on site about 7 to 10 days per month

Tonight my son had the alligator ties used to secure he’s ladder to the roof rack on he’s van stolen, the ladder was left on the roof rack loose, thankfully he noticed before he drove anywhere. An hour later my friend phones to tell me that when she arrived home she had no electricity, the electricity company arrived within an hour (true!) and they as well as herself where amazed to find that some had stole the mains box form her electric meter box outside her house!

Just wanted to say that the Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning is just what this town needs! If only all MP's were like him! Mike Penning genuinely cares about the people of Hemel. He has helped several people I know all with very different problems from operations being continually cancelled to problems with housing. Long may Mike look after the people of Hemel!!
