I was worried to read that when the Conservative party published a top ten list of why to vote for them earlier this week, the environment didn't even make the list.

Just a few years ago, David Cameron was urging us to believe that it was his top priority. He even went to the artic to be photographed with a husky.

Climate change and other environmental threats will be some of the biggest policy issues facing our planet and our country during the next parliament and beyond. The inconsistency shown by David Cameron suggests he sees them less as policy threats to be addressed and more as PR opportunities to be taken advantage of.

We need sustained action if we're to beat these threats. That's why I've signed up to www.EdsPledge.com and would encourage other to do so too.
